The Academic Consortium brings faculty and graduate students in the field of Jewish Studies together with their peers at other Bay Area institutions, providing intellectual exchange and a sense of community beyond what is available on any individual campus. Initiated in 1988 and administered by the Jewish Community Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, and funded by the Swig Family Fund for Jewish Community Involvement, the Academic Consortium also brings Northern California academics into a closer relationship with the organized Jewish community, thereby bridging these two communities that have so much to offer each other.
